Jacksonville Land Swap
Jacksonville Residents will be asked for their opinion on a potential land swap at a public hearing tomorrow night in the old city hall during the City Council meeting.

The swap involves 380 acres in the city’s upper water shed for 40 acres of land adjacent to Forest Park. The city would also receive nearly $845,000 in the deal, which could be used to repair the reservoir dam. The deal might also increase off highway vehicle use in the area.

The City Council and members of the Motorcycle Riders Association, which owns the 40 acres next to the park, have already been in negotiations.
