The Grants Pass Lady Cavers are on the road again this time to face Canby in the quarter finals at 4:30 this afternoon.

The Rogue River Lady Chieftains have a home game this afternoon against Harrisburg, also at 4:30.

The Hidden Valley boys Baseball team also travel to Philomath this afternoon for a 4:30 game.

The Hidden Valley Mustangs continued their March through the 4a baseball competition overcoming an hour and fifteen minute rain delay at Eugene’s PK Park to hand Pleasant Hill a 15 to 10 defeat.

Tyler Spencer threw no-hit ball for six and a third innings and the Cavemen went into the bottom of the seventh inning leading fifth ranked Barlow 1 to 0 at Hood River High School.

Four area teams remain in the High School playoffs and are scheduled to play tomorrow, all on the road.

The Grants Pass Cavemen will travel to Barlow to face the third-rated Bruins, while the Lady Cavers also travel north to face Jesuit.

The Hidden Valley Mustangs travel to Sky-Em League champion Pleasant Hill.

In the 3a ranks, the Lady Chieftains play at Clatskanie.

The Grants Pass Cavemen traveled to Forest Grove, stayed and extra day after a rainout, and responded with a 3 to 2 victory in the first round of the state playoffs.

Tyler Spencer started for the Cavemen and also went 2 for 4 at the plate with an RBI to help his own cause. Spencer cruised into the 6th inning with a 2 run lead, but was lifted with two outs in favor of Brandon Drury when Forest Grove rallied to tie the game.

Then Drury led off the 7th with the winning homerun and finished the day as the winning pitcher going an inning and a third, was two for four at the plate, scored twice and had the RBI.

Brock Dean went two for three with a solo home run.

The win earns the Cavemen a trip to Barlow Tuesday to face the fifth ranked Bears who own a 23 and 3 record.
